Shudder and Vertigo Releasing announced the theatrical and VOD release date for Joe Lynch’s H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Suitable Flesh.

Suitable Flesh is set to be announced in the UK as the opening film of this year’s FrightFest today, and debuts at Tribeca back in June, but still waiting for a broad release.

It was announced that Suitable Flesh will take over the theater and VOD on October 27, 2023, with a streaming debut on Shudder expected for January 2024.

The plot of a Suitable Flesh is a book drawn from The Thing of the Door and depicts a psychiatrist like Elizabeth Derby to be obsessed with helping young people who have extremity personality disorder. But she is caught in dark occult danger as she attempted to escape horror.

The film cast includes Heather Graham (Boogie Nights), Judah Lewis (A Babysitter), Bruce Davison (Insidious: The Last Key), Johnathon Schaech (the Night Clerk) and Barbara Crampton (Your Next).

The director of the film, Joe Lynch previously was responsible for The Badass Story starring Peter Dinklage and Summer Glau. He has also made the violent satire Mayhem. Weaving and Yeun were the actors of the violent version of that series.
