According to a Microsoft patent, machine learning will be able to heat Xbox consoles

Published on

Microsoft regularly patents innovative solutions, among other things, related to the Xbox game console. Not all of them are putting implementation in real products, and many years pass by their appearance in consumer products.

A new patent filed by Microsoft suggests future Xbox game console cooling will be controlled using machine learning. The patent itself states that at least one temperature sensor, a fan, and a fan tachometer will be required to operate. They are used to do the task and collect temperature data from the sensors, a fan speed data from the tachometer. They will then be used to generate a fan control signal, at least partially generated by a machine learning model.

After the development of Xbox 360, Microsoft was confronted with severe problems due to overheating, but the problems were not in the future for Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
