Amazon has dropped the prices of several of its smart TVs and both are currently at their lowest prices on record. While one of the televisions belongs to the Fire TV 4 series, the other is an Insignia model (Buying links near the end of the article).

Both of these are 4K or UHD TVs which means they have a native resolution of 3,840 X 2,160, hence most 4K content viewed should be sharp. Even if the content isn’t 4K, Amazon’s upscaling does a decent job of upscaling the content, although it doesn’t come close to something like the Sony so it’s best not to try and watch things at too low a resolution on these TVs. Especially in the 70-inch Insignia we’re covering today.

Another disadvantage of the Insignia is its poor HDR10 performance. The Insignia is really suitable only for those who want to watch TV from a respectable distance, at least eight meters away. But for those who have the room, and don’t care about HDR picture quality, the 70-inch flagship could be a great deal.

The 43-inch version of the Fire TV 4 series is simply much more suitable for those who have smaller rooms. It also has slightly better HDR performance than the Insignia.
