Cities: Skylines II update provides DLSS content, free Beach Properties DLC and more

Published on

Last week the Colossal Order and the Paradox announced a significant change in the field Cities: Skylines II’s forward development focus. This meant delaying upcoming DLC packs and shifting the development team entirely to game optimization and bug fixes. It also means that the game’s first premium DLC pack, Beach Properties, has been released for free to all players, with refunds sent out as well.

Today, this Beach Properties patch finally landed, and it also brought other goodies like DLSS and bug fixes.

“This patch removes the eligibility from all Beach Properties, so they are now part of the base game and available to everyone,” says Colossal Seder. “Saving and custom maps using the assets should work without any additional steps.” Go here to find more details on the refund procedure for those who purchased the extended DLC.

A surprising addition of this update is the upscaling technology of Nvidia DLSS 2. The city builder launches with the original version 1.0 of AMD FSR, and no other scaling option.
