Content Warning still sold a million copies on Steam after it gave away 6.6 million for free

When an indie game developer and publisher decided to launch its latest PC game, the horror-themed co-op title Content warning, it did something a little different. He launched the game on April 1st by providing the full version from there for his first 24 hours.

As you can imagine, this decision allowed more than 6.6 million people to get the game for free on its first day. It also pushed the number of concurrently online players on Steam up to 204,439 players, According to SteamDB.

After this first day off, Content warning has become a paid title, albeit one with a fairly reasonable price of just $7.99. However, with over 6 million copies shipped for free, you might think there’s no one left who wanted the game. You were wrong.
