The set for new anime, based on Bryan Lee OMalley series of Scott Pilgrim graphic novels, is beginning to drop this November.

According to Netflix, the eight-episode first season of Scott Pilgrim Takes off is about to arrive on Friday, November 17th. The streaming giant released an official teaser trailer for this new series, highlighting cactus scenes and historical musical characteristics, plus a high-energy visual sensibility to metal music and a manga-esque aesthetic.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off brings the band back together.

The series was originally designed by OMalley, and was adapted for six graphic novels from August 2004 to July 2010. The books were previously adapted in the live-action documentary series, titled Sally Pilgrim vs. the World, directed by Edgar Wright. OMalley and BenDavid Grabinski will also make a documentary about Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. Wright is an executive producer as well.

Aside from that, many of the major cast members from The Stagosphere vs. the World share their respective roles in the animated Netflix show. The documentary To Save For The Throne of the World is written by Anamanaguchi. The sequel acted as a soundtrack for the classic To Kill The Awwitch trilogy. Science SARU works as the art studio. The Tokyo-based Science SARU is perhaps the best known for the sci-fi and a manga series, Devilman Crybaby. The studio contributed two short films to the upcoming animation series Star Wars: Visions.
