Ryan and Dani join cast of playable survivalists in the next zombie title Dead Island 2.

After years of uncertainty and long waits, the Dead Island sequel will be released in the end of the spring of 2023.

Players are in zombie-infested cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco, and struggle to survive. Playfully, the focus is on madness and hate-filled violence.

This approach is illustrated in particular by the two playable characters Ryan and Dani newly revealed by Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios. The former is a dancer with firefighters routine, and the latter is a punk with a tendency to perform roller derby.

Ryan can throw zombies around with his beefy strength. Dani possesses the ability to move and use explosives.

According to the filmmaker’s name, Ayesha Khan, Ryan embodies an authority figure who in reality doesn’t act as a person like that. Dani is Irish and combined with her berserk abilities, she’s a unique personality type.

Dead Island 2 is expected to be released on April 28th 2023 for Xbox X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PC.
