NetherRealm Studios Mortal Kombat 1 is finally available and has gained critical acclaim on Xbox X/S and PS5. The PC is a huge problem, but the Nintendo Switch version is overshadowed by how bad the game is. On top of the poor performance, fans criticize the lack of quality visuals and character models.

Ed Boon and his director discussed this with the BBC Newsbeat and confirmed that the Switch version will definitely be getting an update. He promised that the past concerns and issues will be addressed, but didn’t give any specifics or an ETA. Some such concerns are due to the lack of content in Invasion mode. There’s only an intro available, with the remainder of seasonal content to be released in the coming weeks.

The version we absolutely wanted would be great for us. But anything that found a problem with is on our list and should be fixed. As for those who bought or didn’t return or want to own them on Switch, Boon said, It will be supported as a result of Mortal Kombat 11. Anything that we see that’s unacceptable will be solved.

Shiver Entertainment, which worked on Mortal Kombat 11 and Saber Interactive handled the Nintendo Switch port. QLOC developed a PC port, while NetherRealm focused on the Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks, and enjoy our game in the meantime.
