Marvel Studios has announced that they are bringing a new hour-long immersive experience to Apple Vision Pro. Users of the spatial computing headset will soon be treated to the first-ever interactive Disney+ Original story titled “what if…? – Engaging story.

The interactive experience is connected to the Marvel animated series what if…? which reimagines events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in unexpected ways. This is Dave Boshore’s feature film debut for an experience written by David Dong and Phil McCarthy and produced by ILM Immersive.

shares his experience, Boshore said:

‘what if…? – Immersive Story’ is the next evolution in the way we tell our stories, where fans across generations can experience them and live the adventure alongside their favorite heroes. This experience opens the door to the Marvel Universe, and it’s a glimpse of what I’ve been waiting for my whole life.

Marvel has created an hour-long interactive experience where fans can step into an innovative, narrative-driven story in mixed reality with “stunning visuals and spatial audio.” With the new immersive space around them, fans will traverse realities, try to harness the power of the Infinity Stones, learn mystic arts and encounter Multiversal versions of their favorite characters.

The technologically advanced experience activates the spatial computing muscles of the Vision Pro, allowing fans to “cross between augmented reality and virtual reality as they live their own narrative adventure” and interact “with the world around them through their eyes and hands.”

Boshore said these new forms of adventure put the user “at the heart of the narrative. You are the main protagonist. The characters are on their own journey and you are the ‘what if’ of their story, which is amazing. You play a major role in the outcome of how their story is resolved.”

what if…? – Engaging story It will launch as a standalone app for the Vision Pro headset and more details will be “revealed soon,” Marvel said, without specifying a specific launch date.
