Microsoft Edge 125 is currently in its final testing phase before public release in the stable channel. Edge Insiders in the beta channel can now download version 125 with several new features, such as sleep tabs and workspace improvements. Also, Microsoft reminded users about deprecating the MDAG plugin. here are the details.

What’s new in Microsoft Edge 125 Beta?

• Microsoft Defender Application Guard extension deprecated. Since Application Guard has been deprecated, there will be no migration to Edge Manifest V3. The corresponding extensions and the associated Windows Store app will not be available after May 2024. This affects the following browsers: Application Guard Extension – Chrome and Application Guard Extension – Firefox. If you want to block unprotected browsers until you’re ready to stop using MDAG in your organization, we recommend using an AppLocker policy or the Microsoft Edge Management Service. • Automatic discarding of sleep tabs. Tabs that have been sleeping for a long time are deleted to save memory. When a user navigates back to a deleted tab, the tab must be reloaded. This can be managed using the AutoDiscardSleepingTabsEnabled policy. This policy is enabled if the SleepingTabsEnabled policy is enabled. Note: This feature is a controlled feature rollout. • New color view of workspaces: browser window outline. All workspaces have a designated color, and that color is now displayed as an outline in the browser window. The previous attempt applied the color to the entire tab strip in the horizontal tab orientation, and across the title bar in the vertical tab orientation. • The full favorites bar is available in workspaces. Workspaces now display the user’s full set of favorites in the favorites bar, with a dedicated workspace folder accessible from the bar. The previous attempt replaced the Favorites bar in the Favorites folder of the workspace. Note: This feature is a controlled feature rollout.
