Epic apparently cancels Fortnite Winterfest early, re-adds Rocket Launcher

Published on

Fortnite players gathered each other for a long time to watch all of the games limited-time. The event occurred when an explosive had just been destroyed. Though the Winterfest lasted for the whole new year, Epic Games has surprisingly cut all of its existing events short, removing all of its features from the island without explanation.

Although Fortnite declared the upcoming Winterfest 2022 would last until January 3, it has wiped away all the weapons and characters brought from the holiday event. Thus, things like Christmas presents or Snowball launchers can’t be discovered yet, while Santa seems like NPC Sgt. Oddly enough, only one tidie of content from the Winterfest is still missing. To the people who want to open gifts for free in the public can continue to do so at the interactive menu of the Cozy Lodge, but the supercharged XP fireplace is still occupied.

Battle royale players are not all bad news searching for quality loot. The Rocket Launcher can be used as a base loot and to replace the Snowball Launcher. As well, the game also added another close-range weapon to the loot pool, with the Heavy Shotgun unvaulted now.

Since the Winterfest changes are in-game, the Snowball Launcher and Winterfest presents have been disabled earlier today, as it’s too late for the Winterfest movie to be held until the 3rd of January.

As long as Epic Games didn’t mention the threat from the removal, players were unhappy with the resulting event. Twitter user PhantomFNC was a social media user to share their disappointment. She noted that the Chapter 4 was a great start before they got to death. Among other things, like Redditor Louigilou, people poked fun of the underwhelming conclusion, adding that they have completely forgotten it already.

The uproar inevitably is deserved because the Epic has removed a range of other features since the fall of Winterfest. For one, players saw their progress partially wiped away after a challenge dealt with a bug, which led to it losing momentum. When it came to the recent My Hero Academia crossover, it was criticized for its long-awaited Deku Smash Mythic weapon that was removed shortly after its debut due to photosensitivity concerns.
