Square Enix, led by director Naoki Hamaguchi, confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will offer an open game world unlike its predecessor. The reason for that decision is obvious.
Hamaguchi says that, even though fans liked the story of Final Fantasy VII Remake, they didn’t like to feel their own saneness as they couldn’t move freely through the world. That’s why if a sequel succeeds, he will succeed. There’s also a comprehensive world map.
