Former bosses of Far Cry lead the development of new title for Blizzard

Blizzard announced that Dan Hay, former manager of Far Cry franchise, is a leading player in the development of this new game. The executive left Ubisoft last year. Now he’s working on the first original IP after the release of Overwatch 2.

A statement posted on the official website confirmed that Hays was the part of the team. It also stated that the project is a AAA survival title for PC and consoles. According to the note, the former Ubi game director is infusing this genre with the magic of its new home.

Blizzard is going to embark on our next mission. We went to the world to try and find a new universe, home to a new survival game for PC and consoles. The place where she hasn’t met yet was full of heroes. Stories and adventures are coming. There’s a vast range of possibilities to explore.

Dan Hay worked for Ubisoft for nearly ten years, before becoming a principal developer. As a player throughout his career, he played at the helm of films such as Far Cry 3, 4 and 5, and the independent Blood Dragon, Primal, and New Dawn.

Blizzard will work on the improvements for Overwatch 2 project.

After listening to fan feedback, Blizzard representatives confirmed that the devs are working on improvements to the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass. At present, the game should receive changes to the reward system and of the cosmetics offer.
