Crop Yield & Sales

A simple and lightweight crop yield and profit calculator.

– Open the Google Sheet[docs.google.com]

– Make a copy for you own to edit the input values (light blue).

– Alternatively, you can click here[docs.google.com] for a copy link. (You need to be logged in with your account)

Crop Type and Field Size

First of all you need to choose the crop you want to plant/harvest under Crop Type

Then you type the field size in Ha of your field under Field Size (Ha).

Field Work and Difficulty

Here you can select which work you will do on the field.

On the right side you can see how much impact each step has on your Total Profit.

Now you need to select under Difficulty your Economic Difficulty

  • Default Difficulties areNew Farmer = Easy
  • Farm Manager = Normal
  • Starting from Scratch = Hard

Total Yield and Sales

After setting all up, you can now see how much your harvest will Yield

Under Total Sales you can now choose,

what you would get if you sell it for the selected price.

  • Avg. (average) price, defined by the game.
  • 130% of the average price (good selling value)
  • 150% of the average price (seems to be the maximum increase)

At the bottom of Seed and Spray costs you can see if you still make profit or not.

Suggested Work Order

On the right side of the Main Tab you can see a suggested work order to get the full bonus of 165% yield.

The maximum yield for a field is 165%! not 200%

Some people get confused with plowing and weeding. (Saw this mistake in a few guides)

The game got a default yield / Ha. Thats 100%.

If we dont plow or remove the weeds the yield receives a malus of 35% total.

So the minimum yield is 65% without plowing and weeding.

If we plow and remove the weeds we negate the malus, so we can go back to 100%

Mulching, Liming, Fertilizing and Rolling increase the yield by 65% total.

An example.

A field which needs plowing and is freshly harvested has a yield of 85% (15% malus for not plowed)

We now use a mulcher on our field for a 2,5% yield bonus. We are now at 87,5%.

After mulching we now plow the field to negate the 15% malus. The yield is now 102,5%

Now we spray lime on the field for a 15% yield bonus. 117,5% yield now.

After liming the field we can now cultivate and seed the field. No bonus.

Luckily we used a seeder with a integrated fertilizer and got our first fertilize bonus of 22,5%.

Our yield is now at 140%.

We can now use a roller for another 2,5% yield bonus. 142,5% yield.

After rolling we changed the state of the field and can fertilize again for another 22,5% yield bonus.

So we get the maximum 45% yield bonus for fertilizing the field twice.

The yield is now at its maximum of 165%, but….

after a while weeds spread on the field, the weeds decrease the yield by 20%. We are not down to 145%.

We need now to remove the weeds to get back up to 165%.

You can redo those steps in the calculator and see how the yield and profit changes.

Seed and Spray costs

Here you can see your costs and the total profit.

Reused

If you sow Potatoes / Sugercane you can use stored Potatoes / Sugarcane from a another harvest and dont need to spend money on new Seeds.

The table will show the value of the stored Potatoes / Sugarcane if you would sell instead.

You should check that before reusing Potatoes / Sugarcane.

Its not worth on all Difficulties.

Herbicide

If you checked Weeded in the Field Work window, you can now decide if you want to spray Herbicide or use a Weeder to destroy the Weeds on your Field. (Grapes and Olives dont get weeds)

You’ll need to check Weeded or it wont calculate the costs!

Usage and Costs

Here you can see how much Seeds, Lime, Fertilizer and Herbicide you’ll need and how much it costs you.

If you fertilize you need to choose which type of fertilizer you used.

(Solid, Liquid, Slurry, Manure or Digestate)

For Slurry and Manure you’ll see, like for Potatoes and Sugarcane, how much money you could make if you would sell it instead.

For max profit, even on Hard difficulty you can just sell Slurry and Manure for the average price and buy solid or liquid fertilizer from the money.

Total Profit

At the bottom you can see you total costs for your field and the total profit.
