Google Contacts adds a new Highlights tab for Android users

Published on

For all Android users, Google has added a new Highlights tab to its contact management service – Google Contacts. With this change, the Contacts app has become a three-tab app that includes the Contacts tab, the Highlights tab, and the Fix & Manage tab. Furthermore, these three tabs make up the items in the main list view.

Located at the bottom of the Contacts app screen, the Highlights tab fits comfortably between Contacts tab and the Fix and manage tab. Upon moving to it, you will also find a dedicated section for favourites and recently.

As the name suggests, Favorites allows you to mark some of the common contacts as important by searching for them using the search bar and then adding them to Favorites from the top left corner.

On the other hand, recently includes contacts that can be inserted into two separate tabbed lists, ie Recently viewed and Recently added. Both give access to your recent contacts so you can find them quickly instead of scrolling through the entire contact list.
