On Friday, Guardians of the Galaxy will return with a Christmas special before the third film next year. Though promised to be the swan song for the current iteration of the team, a fan is fine if a certain male member makes it out of mortal life.
The conversation about Kraglin (played by James Gunn’s brother Sean) and whether anyone really cares about him takes place in a reddit post. The fan points out that he has been absent or barely present in recent installments of the franchise that show the cosmic side of the universe, and while some say his death would have little impact, others aren’t so sure.
Specifically, there have been other characters so under-explored that they have died, and depending on how they do, you can hit it right.
Another adds that it would probably upset Gunn (who has a habit of putting family on the job he’s involved with). Another says that the character is great and, Avengers: infinity war he could have easily included it or at least made its minor presence obvious.
What comes next for the character remains to be seen, but Kraglin will be in the holiday special. guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 comes out on May 5, 2023, and the film will finally introduce Adam Warlock to the MCU and include several returning supporting characters. The holiday special is also said to be more important to the MCU as a whole than we might expect. While a character actor is fully set to end his time in the franchise and James Gunn ended up in the MCU for a while, it still may not be forever.
