It’s been a long time since we’ve seen major brands announce new smartphones. However, the wait will soon be over, as Samsung, OnePlus and others will showcase their new flagship devices for release in the first and subsequent quarters of 2023. As for Samsung, it may be the first major global brand to release a flagship phone in 2023.

According to the famous leaker Ice universe, Samsung is planning to hold its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 1st. Previous reports have already suggested that the Galaxy S23 series will allegedly debut at the Unpacked event instead of CES 2023. There is not enough clarity if Unpacked 2023 will be an in-person event given that the COVID-19 situation is not that intense, except, of course, in China.

The Galaxy S22, the S23’s predecessor, was also launched in February at this year’s Unpacked event. Samsung usually makes its big hardware announcements at Unpacked events, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the S23 series debut at Galaxy Unpacked 2023. However, it will be interesting to see what else Samsung will announce alongside the S23 at the event.

As for the rumored Galaxy S23 series, it is likely to include the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra. Everyone is expected to pack the The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset And ditch the Exynos chipset altogether. Rumors also say that the ‘Ultra’ model will have Main rear camera 200MP, which can help users take sharper photos than the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It will be accompanied by ultra-wide 12MP and dual 10MP telephoto cameras. The S23 will likely have 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.
