Huawei unveils LampSite X to improve mobile load in indoor areas

Published on

Huawei announced its LampSite X, an indoor 5G solution that will help deliver better indoor connectivity experiences. Huawei said 5G is driving mobile traffic growth with 80% generated in high-density indoor locations such as shopping malls, airports, train stations and stadiums.

The LampSite X is designed to provide a better mobility experience in such places, but also comes with other capabilities such as extremely high 10 Gbps uplink, high precision positioning down to sub-meter levels, low latency down to milliseconds and IoT.

One of the things that many businesses are concerned about now is reducing their carbon footprint. With the LampSite X, Huawei has included service-based power matching, off-peak super hibernation with less than 1W power consumption, and on-demand wake-up in seconds – all of which help businesses minimize their energy consumption and carbon footprint. .

Commenting on LampSite X, Yang Chaobin, Board Member and President of Huawei ICT Products and Solutions said:

“LampSite X brings unrivaled 5.5G capabilities indoors for the first time to comprehensively upgrade indoor digitalization:

The solution includes the thinnest design, the simplest layout and the lowest energy consumption, the solution achieves a 10 Gbps experience and offers diverse capabilities, meeting consumer demands for a more premium internal experience and realizing stronger digital productivity in various industries.’

Unfortunately, Huawei has not yet revealed the prices for the LampSite X. As a commercial product, it may negotiate prices directly with companies based on the number of orders they place with the Chinese company.

It’s also worth noting that many countries around the world have forced telecom companies to remove Huawei hardware from their networks due to snooping concerns. While using LampSite X doesn’t necessarily mean Huawei is spying on your patrons, concerns that governments have overlooked Huawei’s technology should also be considered.
