As part of the open-ended Night Live theme of the Gamescom 2023, the movie Killing Floor 3 was officially announced. This is the second year of a co-op horror movie. At that moment, there isn’t much official information about this game. But what do we know about the upcoming implementation of microtransactions?
Bryan Wynia, creative director of Tripwire Interactiveexplaining that Killing Floor 3 it’ll actually have a microtransaction system. As Wynia says, it is only about cosmetic items, won’t be invasive, and rather, there’s no competition in this whole game. The director tells a story that his team wants to emulate those most appreciated of players at the moment, so as to create an experience that can meet the needs of a bigger audience.
In addition, Wynia says that the post-launch support of Killing Floor 3 will continue on a line with what was already done with the previous installment: If you look at how we continued to update Killing Floor 2, you’ll notice that there are many elements to choose from, like New Maps, For example, and other maps have been added for free. That’s something we want to explore again.
From the moment I got ready for Killing Floor 3, I could still imagine the project in a very distant era. Tripwire hasn’t revealed a clear launch window yet. The only certainty that this work will be released in the future is that it’s on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 and Xbox 360 X/S.
