With all that happening in DC Studios, it’s easy to forget that James Gunn still has one movie for Marvel Studios. The co-CEO of DC wants to break three-part curse in a swansong movie in the MCU.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. The three points will focus on the favourite character of James Gunn.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is currently in post-production and James Gunn is concerned that the third movie will suffer from the three-quantities curse. The director recently shared some of his feelings about the third movie in a long interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“As much as a three-skin-series is a good thing, I can count them on one hand,” Gunn said. “Heaven the series is a series of movies. Lord of the Rings. I wonder whether that man will be able to see someone else. But there aren’t all that many good thirds.”

With this in mind, Gunn had difficult time drafting the Final Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The director admitted that the process took a while, compared to the recent Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. He described it as “torture” in the script of the third movie.

“This is a huge thing,” Gunn states. “There is really no real reason for it happening.” It is where we learned the truth about these characters and where we faced all the bigger questions.

That director was briefly fired from Marvel after Guardians of the Galaxy resurfaced. Marvel did rehire him for the third movie sometime later.

The trilogy was in Gunn’s mind because he didn’t understand that the story was “one thousand percent” unfinished after Vol. 2. The director wanted to explore the story of Rocket as he felt that he owe it to the character.

I returned to make this movie because I felt like I had to tell Rocket’s story,” Gunn shared. “To be a very sad person, not to finish the trilogy for many reasons; yet I’m so far from Rocket.” I think nobody could tell his whole story if it weren’t me.

Rocket is the first to take the spotlight on Guardians of the Galaxy. The first and second films were about Peter Quill and Star-Lord’s origins. The reason was not explained how Rocket came into existence and why he’s always so grumpy.

“To me, Rocket always got used to the secret secret of the Guardian’s films,” Gunn explains. “From the beginning, it was rooted in who he is as a character. I think he demonstrates many of the traits of all the Guardians. They had all these traumas and that led them to a single wound. I’m just thinking about he is more extreme than others.”

This is the final time a cast is together in a movie.

The director shares that fans will learn more about Rocket in Vol. 3. According to Gunn, “We learn a lot about what he has been through and what he has done. This was a very difficult road for this small animal.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. In the month after the death of three brothers, Gunn can continue his job at Marvel Studios. The director turned-CEO is on course for DC Universe. That is as well the final film of the original Guardians of the Galaxy.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. The third of the three will be launched on May 5 2023.
