Recognizing Microsoft’s importance, OpenAI also included Microsoft as a non-voting observer. Today, Bloomberg reported that Apple will also get a non-voting supervisory board seat at OpenAI, matching Microsoft’s influence. According to the report, Apple appointed Phil Schiller, an Apple colleague, to join OpenAI’s board of directors. The move follows Apple’s announcement last month that it will integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT into iOS, macOS and iPadOS.
