Is there a MMO more heavy metal than World of Tanks? I mean that kind of thing by definition, right? Well, maybe that explains Wargamings decision to run the Multigame Wargaming Metal Fest this month, which gets it by no least Megadeth or rather, video game representations. For the curious, consider the times AQ3D (Alice in Chains, Korn, Breaking Benjamin), Roblox (Lil Nas X) or Fortnite (Travis Scott, Marshmello), hosted real music acts inside the game worlds, but this doesn’t sound like an exhibition.

Wargaming announced that it was excited to announce its electrifying collaboration with Megadeth, the iconic metal band. A multi-product musical in-game event named Metal Fest will bring thunderous power of metal to four popular products: World of Tanks Modern Armor, World of Tanks Blitz, World of Warships and World of Warcraft Legends.

Metal Fest will be launching August 28th, with exclusive voiceovers by Dave Mustaine, frontman of Megadeth; James Lomenzo; Dirk Verbeuren; and Kiko Loureiro, plus an array of in-game items branded by Megadeth, such as tanks and warships, in-game missions and quests, integrated music, and much more!

Megadeaths Dave Mustaine says this is the first time that the band was immortalized in video games, noting that the group has delivered over 350 lines of voiceover for the event. Listen, it’s fun seeing MMOs be entertained.
