We’re pleased that the Luxexcel team joined Meta*, deepening the established partnership between the two companies, said a social media company spokesperson. This new asset will help the company boost its presence in the augmented reality market, this area requires over 50% of the entire area of the foundation division for the Meta * Reality Labs.

Together with the newly released Ray-Ban Stories and the second-generation model, the company works on augmented reality glasses for Project Nazare. Mark Zuckerberg recently said that the device will hit the market in the coming years and Luxexcel will help develop it. It’s worth noting that virtual reality headsets don’t provide optics with diopters, and you have to buy them from other manufacturers besides Ray-Ban Stories, that option.

Meta* previously announced that it was intentioning to take over Within, a startup that develops Supernatural VR fitness app, but the deal met with opposition from the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and will have to defend its right to court.

* In the list of public associations and religious organizations whose appeal was finalized, the court put aside or allowed the criminals, which were subjected to federal law n° 114-fZ on July 25, 2002, on countering extremist activity.
