In the first quarter of the century, a release on the original PlayStation was a mere 25 years ago. In honor of the event, designer Hideo Kojima recalled how he created the game.

I had to turn on MGS1 a large turn point. It was released worldwide on major PlayStation consoles but its production process changed greatly. Once upon a time, I had been involved in the planning, writing, game design and even directing, but my bosses had to put in the direction. There were no people who could decide on platform, budget, release date, promotions, staffing, etc. When is the best time to sell? How can you sell? I also couldn’t be able to take charge. Before the release of the SNATCHER advertising, Lisa was arrested. At that time, you could not choose team or platforms, if you are still skeptical. In 1996, I opened a production center in Ebisu, and helped to grow the company. This gave me a chance to control budgets, development plans, recruitment, promotions, etc. in the key authors. MGS1 is the first work I made from an actual author.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection A collection of three first three games in this series is currently being released for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch and is planned for October 24th this year, so now may we revisit the experience of Metal Gear Solid or try playing it for the first time.
