Microsoft 365 Roadmap Weekly: New Copilot features coming to Word, Excel and more

God Microsoft 365 Roadmap website It’s been another busy week with several new entries added over the past seven days. This is especially true of the many new listings that included apps that received additional Copilot AI features.

Later this month, Excel is scheduled to receive two new features powered by Copilot. One deals with Creating complete formula columns.

Users can ask Copilot to generate multiple formula column suggestions at once, from a single prompt, such as “split name into first name and last name.

The second listingBack for release in April, says Copilot can be used in Excel to “use complex formulas like XLOOKUP and SUMIF to create formula columns that combine data from multiple tables.”

New Copilot features are also coming to Word sometime in May. One entry in the roadmap states that Copilot can start creating a document using a witness Three Word or PowerPoint files:

In Draft with Copilot, select File Reference and select up to three files that Copilot should use when creating the new document. Alternatively, in “Write”, type “https://www.neowin.net/” and the name of the file you want to use. You can only use files that you have permission to access in your organization’s SharePoint or OneDrive.

Users can copy and paste a link of a supported file in Draft with the Copilot UI as a reference instead of searching for it in the file references menu.

Microsoft teams Will add a new chat feature Sometime in June:

Organizers, co-organizers and exhibitors can chat in a private chat separate from the participants. This chat is available to access before, during and after the event.

In May, Teams will add features that will do this Enable webinar organizers and also Organizers of town halls “To block participants from sending emails from Microsoft Teams.”
