You can no longer access contacts from chat. Instead, use the new People app. Pin it to your left navigation pane by selecting the (…) menu, right-clicking People, and then selecting Pin.

Windows notifications Teams messages are now fully served from Teams and all message preferences are handled in Teams settings. Ability to save messages and files in Teams The save feature is no longer available. However, classic Teams users can download their messages and saved files to a local folder that they can open in the new Teams. Learn more: Mark a message as saved in Microsoft Teams Setting a Teams Theme As with other Office applications, the Teams theme setting follows the default operating system theme. Users can change this default in Teams Settings > Appearance & Accessibility. When a user exits Teams, any changes to the default design will not be saved. Look up an org chart while chatting 1:1 Select a user avatar or profile picture anywhere in Teams and navigate to the org chart on the profile card. Users can no longer opt-in or opt-out of channel post-level notifications.

Search box commands

The following commands are no longer available in the new Teams search box: /activity, /files, /goto, /help, /join, /keys, /mentions, /org, /saved, /testcall, /unread, /whatsnew, /who, /pop.

Added a wiki to the channel tab You no longer see the Wiki app. Choose the Notes app instead. Added third-party cloud storage service from Files app and Files tab in Channels You no longer see “Add cloud storage” in the OneDrive app in the Teams left navigation bar or in the Files tab in Teams channels. You can now add the third-party storage app directly from the Teams app store. Added a document library application (DocLib) to the channels tab Use the Sharepoint app instead. Then add the document directory from there as a tab to the channel. Existing document libraries are automatically converted to a SharePoint document library on first use. Search LinkedIn while chatting 1:1 Select a user’s avatar or profile picture anywhere in Teams and navigate to the LinkedIn tab within the profile card. Edit the team name and change the team picture from the team edit view. Team owners can edit the team name and change the team image in the team settings tab by selecting More options (…) > Team management. Files app in the left navigation pane of Teams The OneDrive app replaces the Files app in the left navigation pane. Ability to use tags in the “Add Friend” dialog. There is now advanced flow for tags. About links in the More options menu (…) About links are now in the Settings app under Regarding teams category. Help in the app bar The entry point for help, including help links and give feedback, is now under the More Options menu (…) in the title bar. A whiteboard tab is automatically displayed in the meeting tabs. Using the Recap tab from the calendar allows you to access the shared meeting whiteboard file in the content section. The app name is Microsoft Teams Classic, except for Windows 11, where it’s Microsoft Teams Classic (Work or School). The name of the Microsoft Teams (work or school) app is changed to Microsoft Teams. Presenter mode (prominent) during PowerPoint Live sharing. Viewer mode is no longer available. To use presenter modes, start a screen sharing session and select one of the three available modes.
