Overwatch 2 Players Aren’t Happy About $20 Mime Moira Legendary Skin

Overwatch 2 players are not happy with Moira’s new Mime Moira Legendary skin, as it costs $20 and only gives her a new hat and changes the color of her outfit.

Blizzard recently added the Mime Moira skin to Overwatch 2, selling it as part of a bundle that includes some new sprays and emotes. The look itself gives Moira a mime hat, recolors her outfit a bit, and adds some face paint, which most would classify as an epic look. However, Blizzard doesn’t seem to agree, calling it Legendary and charging $20 for it.

If all of this sounds familiar to you, well, that’s because it is. When Overwatch 2 released, a new skin for Kiriko was also added, called “Athleisure”. Even though he only gave Kiriko a new jacket and changed the color of her outfit a bit, Blizzard called it a Legendary skin and charged $20 for it, while strangely also offering a blue version as a reward for simply watching a few matches. on Twitch.

THE GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Considering it’s happened a few times already, it seems likely that Blizzard changed the way it categorizes skins in order to charge players as much as possible, probably because Overwatch 2 is free to play. Unsurprisingly, this upset players, who are denouncing the skin ranking changes.

A post on the Overwatch subreddit by Redditor EndKnight he highlights how much things have changed, noting that legendary skins used to have a main model or color redesign, rather than just adding one thing. One of the most popular posts on the Overwatch subreddit with over 12,000 likes is another pointing out that Mime Moira’s skin is just a color change with no change to the model.

The weird thing about the whole situation is that players have pointed out several new epic skins that look better than the Mime Moira skin and are cheaper to boot. Some gamers are even theorizing that some of the developers working on Overwatch 2 are deliberately placing legendary skins in the epic category as a sort of challenge against monetization. That seems unlikely, but it might still be better to go with epic skins for now.
