Pokemon Legends dominates Japan’s “most downloaded” Switch charts

Kirby is second

Nintendo has offered “most downloaded games in Japan” Switch charts for 2022, and it’s wanting actual good for Pokemon Legends.

Providing rankings for the primary half of 2022, Pokemon Legends takes the undisputed crown from each different Switch game: benefitting from a January 2022 launch. Right behind it’s Kirby and the Forgotten Land, adopted by Nintendo Switch Sports (which is doing higher than some anticipated it to).

From there we dive into third-party land with Monster Hunter Rise, then are reminded of the uncooked endurance of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (which launched within the area in 2014), then we’re again to 3rd events with Overcooked 2, Among Us, and Brave Corps Defeats the Demon King respectively for locations six by means of eight. Then at spots 9 and ten we predictably have Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which are hanging on in multiple regions, not simply Japan.

The remainder of the listing is a captivating microcosm of what does/doesn’t work in Japan (the Kingdom Hearts cloud variations appear to be doing effectively, with two showings within the high 30 general), and reinforces the evergreen nature of many first-party Nintendo video games.

Nintendo also has annual rankings here for 2020 and 2021.
