Koraidon and Miraidon are not only mascot legendaries of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but also your designated ride Pokemon. Instead of using a bike, a boat or a hang glider, the Paradox Legendaries exist to carry you across Paldea from time to time. This is a great idea considering how we normally don’t befriend Legendary Pokemon at the start of the game. However, anything about it still seems to be baffling to this day.
In an episode of Reddit on Aug. 30 one player wondered why it isn’t possible to ride Cyclizar, the modern man of Koraidon and Miraidon, smaller than he was. Cyclizar, known as the Mount Pokemon, is frequently ridden by humans throughout Paldea, and still players have no other choice but to do that.
These things are in the game but I can’t use it to replace Koraidon. by u/Sunieta25 in PokemonScarletViolet in PokemonScarletViolet.
While some might argue that a ride on the Legendary Paradox Pokemon is better than a ride on the Cyclizar, it would be better if it were not riding on the legendary Paradox Pokemon. For example, some players like the original poster like using their Koraidon or Miraidon in battle, but they have to always switch between battle form and ride form to get annoying. Having Cyclizar as the alternative, players will have better be able to keep Koraidon or Miraidon in battle form.
Even when it comes to convenience, the ability to ride on Cyclizar would also make sense in the story. If we had started with the Legendary Ride Pokemon from the beginning, we could’ve started with Cyclizar like the usual Paldean people before finally opening up Koraidon and Miraidon later along the line. This might have felt more natural than given a Legendary buddy just now.
Of course there is always a chance that things could change in the future ‘The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero’ scenario, which has already confirmed some new features such as the new Tera type mechanic and the Roto-Stick for taking pictures at large angles.
