Today, haven’t seen a chance to reveal the biggest evolution of the Firewall franchise by sharing new details on the Firewall Ultras player versus environment (PvE) mode: Exfil (prospectively simple Exfiltration). This game mode gives you unprecedented levels of freedom and excitement in the Firewall.

In this blog I decided to break down the new Exfil mode and why were so excited for everyone to try Firewall Ultra at that time as it launches exclusive for PlayStation VR2 on August 24th.

The Firewall franchise is famous in VR for its pulse-pounding gameplay without respawning, intense firefights across a variety of maps and extensive customization and progression. All these pillars go into the new PvE Exfil mode but this time with the focus on defending the AI.

What’s the mode Exfil?

In Exfil, you and up to three other players are going to leave the game to get together for a cloud of data on three laptops. This is a huge change from our PvP mode, Contracts. Weve designed each map to suit both PvE and PvP game modes so youre always opening new doors through levels and finding good flanking spots to escape enemies.

When you go to Exfil every mission, you’ll hack up one of the two available access points to get the laptop location checked and then start preparing for attack. Do you try to break up with a squad or do you stick with to cover the others backs? Do you plan on sneaking out of corridors and trying to remain undetected for as long as possible? Do you mean guns blazing to wage war? It’s their choice, because every level in Exfil is like a miniature playground with a large variety of options and scenarios.

Once the laptops have been revealed, they will appear in their spawn position from a dynamic set of locations that it can’t be repeated. However, there are some serious risks of a police station dripping with an AI.

The enemy units won’t know where you are from. Therefore, they’re very distracted while patrolling around the map. Once you are starting a hack and starting firefighting, it’s when things become more intense. Expansions with different weapons converge dynamically with your position in a different way.

AI enemies have some gadgets, as well as players who can attack grenades, lay traps, breach rooms, and even deploy C4 charges. These AI bots are able to escape the line of fire blindly. They cover, scold you and respond intelligently to the situation.

If you use these three laptops to secure the intel, it will happen when things are escalated. You and your squad must get to the Exfil zone and hunk down until your evacuation ends. This is the most difficult part of that game, if enemies give you everything they have in there. A player that will manage to make it alive will be rewarded with cash or bonus. In the future, they will be rewarded with a currency token (crypto) and hopefully they have completed a few Black Road Dealer assignments as well.

Firewall Ultra is a game that you will keep on coming back to every second on your PS VR2 and constantly find fresh and new things to do and see. As a live service title, I always share the news on new content including maps, weapons, and contractor, and redesigns for locations like the shooting shooted area and safehouse lobby. It’s a living, breathing experience that evolves with time. Firewall Ultra is five years old from its previous Firewall title, Firewall Zero Hour, and in time, Firewall Ultra will see some changes.

Firewall Ultra launched exclusively for PlayStation VR2 on August 24, 2023 at $39.99 (USD) for the Standard Edition, and $59.99 (USD) for the Digital Deluxe Edition. It’s already live now so that you can dive into all-new PvE Exfil mode before the game or build up for 4v4 matches.
