Rufus alternative Ventoy adds a workaround for TPM requirements of Windows 11, MSA, Internet

Published on

Earlier this year in May, Microsoft made Internet connectivity and a Microsoft Account (MSA) mandatory for installing Windows 11 22H2 Insider builds. Fortunately, the OOBE\BYPASSNRO workaround we discovered earlier still worked, and later one of our forum members found a simple workaround trick to install Windows 11 22H2 via a local account.

Now following Rufus, which already added a workaround for these requirements in a previous version, Ventoy, another popular third-party alternative used to create Windows bootable media, has also brought the system requirements and Microsoft Account (MSA)/Internet connection workaround with its latest. Update, version 1.0.86.

The release notes describing these new changes read:

  • Add option VTOY_WIN11_BYPASS_NRO in the global control plugin to bypass the online account requirement when installing Windows 11.
  • Enable VTOY_WIN11_BYPASS_CHECK and VTOY_WIN11_BYPASS_NRO by default.

You can download Ventoy 1.0.86 from Neowin or Ventoy’s Official Website or from GitHub.

In case you’re wondering, the “BYPASS_NRO” option is meant to specify bypassing the network requirement during OOBE, while the “BYPASS_CHECK” is meant to bypass the system requirement check which includes monitoring the TPM version, CPU and other such system. Requirements for Windows 11 In related news, Microsoft has now recently updated the list of supported Intel and AMD processors after the GA of Windows 11 22H2.
