Season 3 of The Witcher may be split into two parts

The Witcher series has lately been shrouded in controversy since the announcement that the lead actor Henry Cavill will depart from the show, and it seems like the surprises may not be over yet after showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed there was the possibility of splitting the third season into two.

In an interview that was recently published by the Collier, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said splitting the first season in two was a choice for the show.

It wasn’t disclosed yet, but now I think what we see happening across all kinds of streams, I wouldn’t rule it out. I agree with you that it does not seem that you’re not making it easy for me to think about what we are doing. So that gives us the whole date for our next launch. And I think this will be interesting. We have the same way, and even half the time now, until Witcher Season 3 is announced. God willing, we’re all right. But who knows, we’ll see what happens.

VFX teams on the most Hollywood shows’ relentless pressure has been put on; showrunners have begun to select two parts to break seasons and this is, for example, Stranger Things Season 4 (Shorty Things). The studios have developed spinoff films that expand the universe of the main show to fill the long waiting period in between seasons. The Witcher has two spinoffs now: the animated film 2021, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and the film, recent prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin.

Unfortunately, some early reviews indicate that the show was a disappointment to most fans, making things worse for the producers, who had to contend with Henry Cavill’s departure. Many fans have expressed their anger about the cancellation of the show, just after he created an earlier petition to keep Henry Cavill on the show.

After the release of Bridgerton and Squid Game, The Witcher was Netflix’s first original series.

Netflix will have to come up with a solution to the growing discontent among The Witcher’s fanbase before it’s too late. This season will adapt the novel Andrzej Sapkowskis, “Time of Contemplation” to summer 2023.
