Sony says Sony is boosting its sales in the PS5 after the biggest sales of all time

Published on

The PlayStation 5 already sold more than 30 million units to consumers, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today. In a demo CES, on Wednesday the PS5 has shipped at least 10,7 million units to retailers during Sony’s current fiscal year ending March 31, 2023. However, the sales figures for shipped goods are higher than those for through the sales.

SIEs sales target is 18 million units a year the figure that it had in its latest sales result released in November. Now it has just three months to sell another 7 million units to hit the target (though the actual amount required is probably less).

Speaking on Wednesday at CES, President Jim Ryan said that December was the biggest sales month for PS5, and that increased availability meant that more consumers could now get it.

Sony has said it intends to ship 23 million PlayStation 5 consoles in the next fiscal year, which begins in April 2023, and will give the console an edge over the PS4.
