Avalon Hill has collaborated with Matthew Lillard as a lead actor, producer and director of the event film show at House on that hill. In conjunction to Betrayal in the 3rD Edition by play-length filmmakers, there will be two sections for this special feature. The new haunt is titled Thirteen Ghouls Are All That and it covers Lillard’e-lifetime career under the pseudonym of a fictional actor named Dexter Norville. Fans can play the new Haunt from 7 o’clock, but Comicbook had its chance to speak with Lillard about this new hauln which features easter eggs that fans who have followed Millard and his career will almost certainly get out of.
“Although many times in my life the opportunities are coming along, I’m excited about this. Once you’re lucky, you find something that speaks to them,” said Lillard. “It speaks to the person you are, and speaks with that brand who speaks volumes in what they describe as people.” That doesn’t make sense like doing something for Doritos. It’s hard to do that for the Betrayal. We sat down and say, “Hey. What do you want from me?” What do you expect? Because in this kind of relationship, I really want to get engaged. If you create a haunt your name isn’to please!

Let’s dig in and help us while we learn game design. After the start of this process, I was so excited that he and my team were all interested. The team have mined Lillard’s career and wove references into every section of the Haunt, while some Omen are great; that said with a few close cuts. I didn’t think that they would deliver such deep cuts, let alone find fun Easter eggs from my career. There are some cuts out there I like – “Wait, in this case The King was: A Dungeon Siege Tale”, or just random stuff that is hilarious for the strangely talented Thomas Lillard fan who’s followed along with my long and painful career. I think that when you give creative people the chance to do what they love and make them happy, then there’s enough value.
“I think that’s what happened here.” I think that the team was like, ‘To dig into my career: let me take it off and keep doing things. And I think you will see what the cats are coming as it plays your game. That’s a reference to the Wing Commander, but their idea of giving them an opportunity for him with fun was excellent. And I think it’s going on in the football,” Lillard said.
Lillard had the chance to test at Gen Con that Haunt was a fun affair. While the fans put them through their paces and came away with so much time, it was another level of thrill for him as long back then!
The chance of sitting down at the table playing the new edition was fantastic. I played at home once and evidently, reading through all of the cards helped me get acquainted with it,” said Lillard. “Hey when we went and shot it at Gen Con, he had an absolute blast playing it. This is when life comes alive. We were excited to be here and in the mood for playing something first. Until after that, the game started to develop through there live play.
“And look, you’re surrounded by people. You belong to the crew; there were lights running inside and there was performed aspect of it in particular.” But the good news is that our game turned into a win. “You spent time and energy on one project. And in gameplay it was like the same, isn’t it? That was the hard part. You put all the time and energy into it; then when you take it with live flames, it was like a blast. This’s all right.”
“I’m excited for fans of the game, and fanatics with Matthew Lillard about his bizarre career”, he said. I think the idea of a free download that Avalon Hill has created this haunt is really cool. I think it’s a celebration and you don’t see that very often from big corporations. What would you think is, ‘Hey! Let us give back in this moment. I think the game is super cool, and trying to build Season of Treason for this moment.
Lillard would like to train on another Haunt if the new people come and lend their unique voice. But that’s what has been his aim, but I wonder whether this will ever happen again!
“Yeah, look! I’d love it!” I think the only thing that’s important is, in this moment as many people and women of Betrayal will deliver for their fans – something they have fun doing either me nor anyone else. I think it’s interesting and clever, the intersection of pop culture with games that give you something fresh to play. It makes the game evergreen when you keep adding cool nuance and fun ways to bring people into that awesome match, said Lillard.
