On December 31, an archive of sportmasters data was published on one of the channels Telegram. A person with whom to enter was arrested, with names, birth dates, phone numbers, and email addresses. According to a study that revealed the archive, the incident wasn’t affecting user logins and passwords, payment information, and employee credentials, said a representative of Sportmaster. We noted that the database has customer data from 2019.

According to the available data, Sportmaster is currently investigating the incident and has also tried to find out the cause of the incident. According to preliminary data, the leak occurred through one of the contractors that accessed client information. As part of the work to assure the safety of the business, a large restriction of access to company data was introduced, and a notification of the incident was sent to Roskomnadzor. Since the investigation is a result of the internal investigation, the vulnerabilities in the company’s data protection will be eliminated, thus saving it from happening in the future.
