The force engine team has released version 1.0 of that. On modern PC systems, fans can finally enjoy the classic Doomclone game, Dark Forces.

According to its description, The Force Engine is a project with the aim of reverse engineer and rebuild the Jedi Engine for modern systems and the games that used that engine Dark Forces and Outlaws. And yes, you read that right. The next game, due to be fully compatible with the engine, will be Outlaws.

In version 1.0, we also have a Mod Loader, allowing players to use mods by simply placing them in the Mods/directories as ZIP files or directories.

There is also support for the HD and Widescreen monitors. It is not just a GPU, but it comes with a correct pitch and perspective. This new GPU renderer allows PC gamers to play on a lot higher resolutions and improve performance.

You can even tell that The mighty engine has full control over the mouse. There are two important features such as QoL. Additionally, players can expect the support from a controller, full input binding, aiming reticle, improved Boba Fett AI, and more.

Lastly, there’s a new save system for work with the checkpoint and life systems.

The Force engine is available from here. Naturally, you’ll need a copy of the original game also bought.

Have fun.
