A publisher announced that the cat-based adventure game Stray is being adapted into an animated movie. According to IGN, the production of the movie will be managed by Annapurnas own new animation division, which is being managed by Robert Baird and Andrew Millstein, both of whom previously served as directors at Disney Animation.

The company hasn’t revealed a release window for this film yet, so the team working on adapting Stray is likely to be back in the pre-production phase.

An unidentified individual is chasing the beast with his paws while they are trying to connect it with the family in an internet game. As they explore a world populated with only robots, players will befriend a small robot.

The game was recently released on Xbox One and the Xbox Onea launch, that was celebrated by the Xbox Twitter account, and with an amusing picture of that Stray protagonist chilling over a Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game was previously released on PC, PS4 and PS5 and was praised for its visual fidelity, environmental story-telling and atmosphere. See more details in our review of Stray.
