As we tend to do this time of year, we like to kick back in front of the TV with the family and watch some holiday-themed movies or TV specials.
This Thanksgiving, if you’re a turkey-belly horror fan looking to do just that, there’s one movie in particular you should steer clear of, according to the r/horror subreddit.
The specific stinker in question is Thanks Killing 3, which, as u/haggotstar points out, tries to be too meta and edgy for its own good, resulting in a messy movie that turns out to have little to no substance and isn’t nearly as smart as it appears to be. .
Most of the comments in response to the thread absolutely agree, considering it an absolute abomination of a movie that tries to jump on the ‘so bad it’s good’ bandwagon but ends up being undeniably bad without a shred of enjoyment to be found.
The premise behind Thanks Killing 3 (the second film in the series, to the goat simulator 3) according to the commenters on the thread it is a search for the singular copy of Thanks Kill 2. So meta, so much wow.
While some responses to the thread had some appreciation for the original film, any goodwill it established was lost with the release of Thank you Killing 3.
They are not alone either. The audience scores on rotten tomatoes by ThanksKilling and ThanksKilling 3 they sit at 42 percent and 28 percent, respectively, and not enough critics have bothered to give either movie the time of day to make it eligible for a Tomatometer score.
In short, just go look free birds or something.
