The Elder Scrolls 6 might still be released on PlayStation 5

Don’t just stop playing Skyrim yet, it would take a while to spend two hundred hours lost in Tamriel before a third edition of the Elder Scrolls.

Once Starfield is finished, Bethesda Game Studios can finally begin working on its next set of epic releases, beginning with The Elder Scrolls IV.

After the groundbreaking announcement of this sequel to the famous Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in 2011, fans were eager to get around any information they had.

The Elder Scrolls 6’s exclusivity has been a hot topic in the wake of Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda and the subsequent exclusive release of Starfield for Xbox. The CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, raised an alarm over the next installment of a year in a row, which might be a “timulator-sized” piece. In his recent interview with Bloomberg, he reiterated the company’s decision-making position, to decide exclusivities in the game itself, promoting Microsoft’s ambition to ensure that its games reach a large audience. This evidently comes from their expansive Xbox ecosystem, which includes the gaming consoles, the PCs and the cloud.

The main argument of the second largest series of Elder Scrolls is the addition of other multi-platforms. The award-winning franchise has been in multiple markets for years. Consequently, a website should remain accessible to all. In all of Microsoft’s defenses during the Activision Blizzard acquisition cases, the company discussed the key difference between Starfield, a new intellectual property, and a long-running series called Call of Duty. Starfield, a new IP, was something Xbox wanted to introduce very easily. It would be harmful that Call of Duty, which has a massive multiplatform player base, wouldn’t go all alone and it would be detrimental to strip it away from its established audience.

The Elder Scrolls 6 is, however, in an intricate position. While it is a well-seasoned multiplatform game, its multiplayer doesn’t make up for features like cross-play, since it isn’t inherently multiplayer.

To draw further parallels, the exclusivity of Starfield was strongly defended by its director Todd Howard. Analytically he compared the game’s exclusivity to how Zelda is intrinsically linked to Nintendo. Howard further justified that this exclusivity streamlined the development process by reducing the platform for which it was necessary to customize the game.

The Elder Scrolls Online will continue to receive updates to fans who prefer playing with other players.

Evidence from the FTC case indicated that Microsoft might have asked for all future Bethesda Softworks games to be sold for Xbox exclusives. These revelations suggest that there was a possibility that a change in attitudes since the acquisition of the property, as far back then titles like Deathloop and Ghostwire continued their association with PlayStation 5 because of prior marketing agreements.

As as I mentioned earlier, Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision and their decision to keep Call of Duty multiplatform, I thought it was possible to limit the Elder Scrolls to Xbox.

That’s all for the future. The Elder Scrolls 6 will be in the market around 2028. With that time, the gaming landscape would be transformed by numerous changes including possible new hardware, new unforeseen corporate deals and a naiveriad of new services. The release of the game may even have a significant impact on the advent of a new console. That means there are several factors that will influence The Elder Scrolls 6’s presence on other platforms.

Many believe the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind has a desperate need for a modern re-release.

Unfortunately, though the release was still years away, fans might have to listen to the old people. But one thing is for sure: we’ll all be watching closely.

Many remain skeptical that it’s really in development, except that was the case also with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and we all know what happened.
