In almost every month, big releases hurried into the spotlight, and October is no different, players looking for high-profile exclusives and blockbusters to get their teeth in. From 2D platforming and analysis to psychological horror and racing titles, it’s an embarrassment of riches. Check out the 15 biggest games, going out in October.
Assassins Creed Mirage and his wife will be killed soon.
Mirage is focused on Basim Ibn Ishaq and his journey from a street thief to the assassin as part of the Hidden Ones. There’re only four districts of the 9th century of Bagdad, the return of parkour and urban traversal, and a more open-ended approach to assassinating targets, and the Assassins Creed Mirage is a strong return to form.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria!
With the success of several games: Valheim, The Forest and more, Free Range Games co-op experience focuses on Gimli and his dwarves as they return to reclaim Moria. Players cross the mines. They get more resources and more. With base-building, exploration, survival elements and support for up to eight players, its infusion on the Lord of the Rings formula will turn around on October 24th for PS5 and PC.
Marvels Spider-Man 2:20.
Marvels Spider-Man 2 is easily the biggest release of next month and launches on October 20th for PS5. After the horrors of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Miles Morales, it sees Peter and Miles battling new villains like Kraven and his hunters, and both dealing with Dr. Curt Connors and becoming a Lizard. The Symbiote takes control of Peter allowing new powers, but corrupting his mind. With a map twice larger than previous games, new activities and abilities and instantaneous switch between two heroes, Marvels Spider-Man 2 looks like a step up from the original in almost every way.
Super Mario Bros.
At first glance, Super Mario bros. Wonder is, asks, What if Mario was trippy? After Bowser visits the Flower Kingdom, and did Bowser things, it was up to Mario and friends to stop him. The 2D platformer can transform a stage, from living pipes to an overhead perspective, to stabbing enemies. You can make Badges a unique bonus, and using new power-ups like turning into an Elephant or using bubbles to trap enemies.
Multiplayer can support up to four players, with the option of creating rooms and partakeing in races, while asynchronous elements like Live Player Shadows add a whole new dimension to the solo play. Mario Bros. Wonder launches on October 20th on Nintendo Switch.
Police are arriving.
If you want a shift title to change the character from Mario’s destiny, then there is Detective Pikachu returning. As a sequel to the 2016 adventure entitled The Nintendo DS, Tim Goodman and Detective Pikachu have teamed up to investigate the disappearance of Tims father.
While Tim questions the character of the human NPC for clues, the human science interface uses Pokemon to develop a special ability like to track a scent with Growlithe, or to see through walls with Luxray. To be sure that the mystery is all right, it’s no secret that he will be able to find it, but the Detective, Pikachu Returns should be aware that it is coming on the Nintendo Switch on October 6th.
Forza Motorsport
The new turn 10 racing sim franchise has 500 cars (more than 100 of them launching the series) and 20 locations and an impressive 800 upgrades. It’s a construction of what makes the Motorsport series so great. Everything, from the handling and the tire physics to the damage and visuals, has been revamped and supports full ray tracing during gameplay.
The new Builders Cup will test your skill using single-player, while Featured Multiplayer wants to create a living racing community by allowing events to continue. All of that barely scratches the surface of Forza Motorsport. We’ll dive deeper, as it is when the platform launches on October 10th for the Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Sonic Superstars
Jump up, Superstar, but it’s not so much yours that you are thinking. Superstars see Sonic, Knuckles, Amy and Tails reunited, and fang flew to the New North Star, to combat Eggman, Fang the Sniper and the mysterious chip. For the first time in the series, support is available to up to four players on screen, while new abilities are achieved thanks to Emerald Powers.
If you are looking for a more competitive multiplayer, battle mode can offer all kinds of races, star collecting and survival of up to eight players online and four local players. Sonic Superstars launches on October 17th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 5, and Xbox Switch.
Ghostrunner 2
Jack is back, and this time he’s a young man, and he’s ejecting out of Dharma Tower urging him to become a big man. You will continue to see dangerous environments with wall-running, slow-modging and slicing enemies into ribbons (but, hopefully, not dying). Tom also has a bike to drive in slow-paced stages, which can be easily augmented by split-seconds. Ghostrunner 2 introduces multiplayer to Xbox One, the Xbox One, Xbox One and the Xbox One, with a more realistic strategy with a touch-on approach, but not for Xbox One.
NHL 24
Compared to other properties in EA Sports, from the revamped EA Sports club 24 to the long-awaited EA Sports UFC 5 might feel like more of the same. However, EA Vancouver offers many new features, from new total control skills to new passing system, to physics-based contact, and even full crossplay for Ultimate Team and the new and improved World of Chel.
If you like looking at body-checking or that’s how they handle the complex rules, NHL 24 is likely to be a considerable improvement over its predecessor. That’s the launch of the Xbox One series on October 6th.
The Lord of the Fallen.
Lords of the Fallen is releasing for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on October 13th. Developed in the Unreal Engine 5 and intending to be Dark Souls 4.5 in the post-Elden Ring world, players are exploring two worlds: Axiom, the Land of the Living and Abral, the Land of the Dead.
While you have a huge collection of weapons, armor sets and spells to battle enemies, use the Umbral Lamp to cross the environment and escape the realm of the dead is very important. It looks strong, and even with the release of Lies of P, who can’t say no to anything more solid, like one’s Souls?
Alan Wake 2:42.
In 13 years since the first games released (both in-game and outside), Alan Wake is finally in a full-fledged sequel. While Alan remains trapped in the dark, seeking an escape, newcomer and FBI agent Saga Anderson plans to go to Bright Falls to investigate a murder that he related to Wakes work. The first surreal environment is even bendable in unique ways, while the second focuses on understanding the meaning and motivation of the world.
Both of them will struggle to cope with terrible enemies, using flashlights to focus and expose them to firearms. A vastly more ambitious scale with beautiful pictures, Alan Wake 2 could be a dark horse in one of the most packed years of gaming. On October 27th, it will be for Xbox series X/S, PS5 and PC.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1
The legend returns again soon. A compilation of the mainline games, with Vol. 2 with Metal Gear Solid, and 3 with Snake Eater. These aren’t remasters or remakes, though Metal Gear Solid is limited to 30 FPS, while Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 are from the HD Collection released in about a decade ago.
Despite being as faithful as you can, the collection delivers awesome content like graphic novels, guides, scripts and the choice to play Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and even Snakes Revenge. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. The first will take place October 24th from Xbox X/S, PS5, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Transformers: Earthspark Expedition.
After the series of Cybertron and Transformers Devastation, the Transformers : EarthSpark expedition isn’t painted in the best light. However, the action-adventure title of Tessera Studios could be better than anticipated with its combat and exploration. The game is being marketed for Xbox One, Xbox One, Xbox series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Hidings Unleashed 2: Turbocharged: A turbocharged vehicle.
There are five new environments: museum, minigolf course, ability like double jumping, and more than 130 vehicles. Two new types of cars are the bikes and trailers.
There’s even an extensive new campaign and cross-platform support with new modes like Elimination events and Drift Challenges. Basically, it looks like a worthy follow-up that doubles down on what works. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged launches on October 19th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, X/S series, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Ark: Survival: Ascended.
What if Ark: Survival Evolved but repaired by Remastered Motor? For the better or worse, Studio Wildcard is heading in the same direction with Ark: Survival Ascended, which launches for PC, Xbox X/S and PS5. With the improvements in images and support for Nanite and Lumen, he also offers cross-platform multiplayer, improved performance, a new third-person camera, Photo Mode, updated mini-map, ping system and much more. Is it worth the wait, especially with the $4.99 price and Survival Evolved going off. Time will tell, but the developer has spent the whole entire year.
