PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2) will launch a new generation of VR gaming in 2023. At the latest technology, it’s never easier to switch games to PSVR2. According to the creative director Ryan Bousfield, an article from the issue 380 of the EDGE magazine shows that VR games are considerably easier to develop for multiple platforms.

The PSVR2 controller looks pretty similar to the Oculus controller. Companies act as standard. Several years ago you had Vive sticks and various Oculus controllers and then PS Move which didn’t even have a D-pad. That was very crazy.

To create immersive games requires developers to customize their games based on the platform they are being built for. This is why the VR headsets were very different. Aside from the standardization, developers will not be able to focus on the platform a lot and concentrate more on the game itself.

The PlayStation VR2 is set to be released on February 22nd, 2023.
