Tales from the Far Land it is the first paid expansion pass for Survival Mode in The Long Dark. It will be released in several parts over the course of a 12 month campaign. TFTFT will greatly expand the game’s Great Bear Island setting and Survival base, including new regions, gameplay, and objective-based storytelling.
Tales From The Far Territory will be released in regular parts, and each part will have paid and free updates for Expansion Pass and The Long Dark (or Survival Edition) owners. The timing and content of the updates will depend on development realities and will occur every 8-10 weeks. The precise content of each part will be revealed before each release, however, it will be based on the roadmap, as published on The Long Dark website. In the meantime, here’s a rundown of all the additional regions and gameplay in the TFTFT Expansion Pass:

Additionally, Tales From The Far Territory will include three narrative tales instead of challenges. This will feature stories from the territory’s mysterious past, each with narrative-focused game objectives that help build the history of Great Bear Island and reconnect with the WINTERMUTE history which culminates in Episode Five. Suggestions for additional content will be provided as each Tale’s release date approaches.
There were also plans for a variety of visual improvements for high-end PC, Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5. Tales From the Far Territory will be released on Vapor Y epic games store in December 5, 2022followed by a release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch in early 2023.
