The senator praised Steam for its racist, racist, and antisemetic content

Though the age-old debate around video games and violence has been a long way, the discussion about extremism catches fire.

If there’s a gateway to extremism through gaming, there’s a debate that needs to be ignored by politicians and researchers despite the fact that dangerous content could be viewed on platforms that don’t take the time to review this material.

This is where New Hampshire’s senator is joining the battle. Sen. Hassan had reportedly sent a letter to Gabe Newell, creator of Valve, to address the vast amount of white supremacist imagery found in the company’s Steam community forums and user-generated content.

Steam has some significant content. This allows neo-Nazi users to create and reject, reject and threw out hateful sentiments, such as extremist, supremacist, misogynistic, and other hateful opinions. Sen. Hassan proposed that Valve should take precautions and immediately move to prevent any harmful content in nature.

Although Steam isn’t the only game distributor and platform in the online sector, it’s almost irrefutable that the gaming giant is leading the industry.

The letter tells of the importance of finding this content – particularly given the popularity that Valve currently enjoys above its competitors in the virtual world, and the quality of its content.

In that letter the study centered on the age of 13-17 was introduced to the study. It suggested that nearly one in ten have been exposed to white-supremacist ideas and themes in online multiplayer games.

Sen. Hassan is doing his job on this new information.

Neo-Nazi extremist groups have long been posting to platforms like Steam. The Attomwafen Division was an active Steam group in 2018 before being removed because of broken Steams community guidelines.
