About a year ago we published a story about WinToys, a neat application for tweaking and optimizing Windows 11 in a safe and easy way. Today, the app received its anniversary update in version 1.13.

The latest update provides several useful features for maintaining your computer. For example, WinToys can now fight annoying processes that keep waking your computer from sleep. There’s also a memory diagnostic shortcut, the ability to toggle automatic app updates, and more.

Here is the full changelog for version 1.13:

  • added Memory diagnostic feature on the health page
  • added Sleeping pills feature under the health page
  • added App updates option on health page
  • added Option to optimize windows mode under Boost/Gaming settings
  • added Watermark option under Tweaks/Desktop
  • added Two new languages: Italian and Polish
  • Improved Junk Cleaner by:
    • Adding missing files from the disk cleanup tool (error reports and dump files)
    • Added the ability to view and select browsers individually
    • Added file size and file count for selected items
  • Reboot button is now hidden instead of disabled when no reboot is required
  • Improved layout alignment on the home page and added two missing translations
  • Updated some border colors to be more visible in dark design
  • Changed the compare button icon and tooltip translation
  • Changed the progress ring to a progress bar for app and service changes
  • Removed process tracking for win32 apps as it is unreliable (progress will only be shown for store apps)
  • When an app or service is changed, the context menu will now not show because the options are disabled
  • Changed the context menu of the service so that when it cannot be stopped, the start state is disabled

And here are more fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where closing the app would cause an exception (the most common exception)
  • Fixed startup crash when information for a specific date was not available in Umm al-Qur’a calendars
  • Fixed an issue where extracting spotlight images to a deleted destination folder would not work
  • Fixed an issue where uninstalling an app would break the app list update in real time
  • Fixed not being able to open the context menu of a selected service
  • Fixed an issue where the hibernate file size percentage was displayed as 20% when the default was actually 40%
  • Handled exceptions when loading apps and startup apps
  • Handled an exception when terminating a non-existent service
  • Exception handled when loading a benchmark file that is in use
  • Exception handled when deleting a non-existent startup application file
  • Handled an exception of the missing service translations for autorun and system modes
  • Handled exception when turning off widgets when registry key is missing
  • Handled an exception when trying to kill a browser to clear cache
  • Handled an exception when counting system restore points

You can Download WinToys for free from the Microsoft Store. Before using the app (or any other matching app), we strongly recommend creating a restore point and backing up important data.
