We are celebrating our 25th anniversary since the first release of the Gran Turismo series.

Back in 1992, the main project plan I developed was to form a plan for a company that was one of almost 100 which I was able to get into the business, so that it took me a lot of time.

Although I started as a hobby of 10 years, I never imagined going to make it a career.

I started a movie production group when I was 14, and was producing movies; so I joined Sony in order to create the picture picture project. But the department they assigned me to isn’t what I was expecting.

It was a place where the PlayStation console was just about to start and a place where the creator of the software-playing equipment, Ken Kutaragi-san, worked heishly to implement the concept of the PlayStation console.

That was not what I hoped for in this place, but look back now, you can say that I was very lucky.

The real time 3D graphics that many had been waiting for, made and presented plans for video games and games, not only race games but also RPGs, adventure games, action games, puzzle games, and more.

As a result, the Grand Prix won the first ever Grand Prix, with the addition of some fantasy titles for PlayStation.

Thereafter, the Gran Turismo project started from gathering a group of two and three artists, then a team of two part-time art and engineers.

From there, number of comrades has continued to increase for over a quarter of a century, and has become a company with over 200 employees.

I don’t think that many videogame franchises have existed for 25 years with the same title and the same team.

The founding members of the company are still working on the front lines, and I’m thankful to all 200 members of our staff for the same motivation and love as what the company started with.

Since the last 25 years, sales total of the series has reached over 90 million copies as of November 1622. And this result is something that can’t be achieved alone.

Besides that 90 million sanity, the media put its people to the delight of the reader. There were people who sold for us and who adored the idea of making a deal with people with no regrets.

Many thanks for their support.

And over all else, I can’t thank enough the Gran Turismo users and the Gran Turismo community who have played our new titles, in which sometimes it might be said that they were very experimental.

We’re here today because people supported us.

I think the Gran Turismo series always pursued beauty. The beauty of the car, the beauty of scenery, the beauty of lighting, the beauty of driving, the beauty of sounds / music, and the beauty of the graphics.

He hopes that the pursuit of beauty is the motivation of the project, The Golden Turismo.

We have newfound determination to work with an emphasis on purpose and progress into the future.

We appreciate your support over the past 25 years.

Thanks!
