While Whistle: Dafne Keen, Nick Frost & More join High School Horror From The Nun Director’ In-Law

According to Deadline, Dafne Keen and Shaun of the Dead star Nick Frost are collaborating in the next horror movie.

In addition to the high school-set project, Sophie Nelisse (Yellowjackets), Sky Yang and Percy Hynes White on wednday have also been cast in the class. That’s a book by The Nun director Corin Hardy, who likened Whistillle to other classic films in horror and the coming-of age genre.

Whistle premise is simple, immediate and has fresh sound; the mythology is haunting. A cursed object summoning your future death, Hardy said in a statement. The screenplay contains echoes from some of my favourite classic horror films like The Ring, A Nightmare on Elm Street or It Following the Killer, with seminal high school movies such as Breakfast Club and Donnie Darko. I’m delighted to work with this brilliant young cast of people so that they can conceive this creative, terrifying and cinematic new horror for life.

What will you expect in Whistle?

Whistle is directed by Hardy, which was created from a short story that Owen Egerton wrote. This is produced by David Gross (Room) for No Trace Camping, and Macdara Kelleher as he creates Wild Atlantic Film. Production expected to start in December of the year next month. The upcoming act strike won’t affect it because it is required in part to comply with an ACTRA contract rather than by SAG-AFTA.

In the film, an unremarkable group of low school students stumble upon a cursed object called this ancient Death Whistle (Aztec) which read it. They discover that blowing the whistle and a sore sound will threaten their future death to seek justice. As the body count grows, friends seek to discover why this deadly artifact was developed in a desperate effort that would stop them from happening.
