Microsoft has filed a patent for a system for personalized advertising in video games. It can be used in games made to play or in subscription games.

The analyst, meanwhile, stressed the possibility of using hybrid terms of monetization, such as Subscriptions or In-game monetization, which increase the commercial viability of services such as GamePass.

Patent for personalized advertising.

There’s been a long time since Microsoft began to embrace the idea of a new patent. The company describes a system for personalized ads.

The patent provides personalized content for an unimpressed online gaming experience, as well as identifying a location within the gaming environment for content overlay over time frame and to identify content display to the user.

This means that the system analyzes the players activities and provides customized in-game advertising that runs simultaneously with the real-time game.

Video games are not new. Take-Two has provided for in the past Ads in NBA 2K21, criticized many in his recent criticism of the non-dispeableness. Then there was a report that Microsoft was working on an advertising program for games in-game. Sony should do something similar on the road.

As usual, a patent or an application doesn’t mean that a patent will be used never with the described technology. Microsoft’s latest patent to serve personalized advertising is contrary to what analysts expect from the gaming market when a Netflix-like model actually comes on.

You’re also a bit concerned about a lot of activities.

The price of the Xbox Game Pass will be rising in the coming months and years. Just recently, Microsoft has upgraded the costs of first-party games that will cost around 80 euros in the future. This is a sum established in the past generation by several publishers. Microsoft, however, does not exclude an increase in hardware prices over the long term.
