Yorgos Lanthimos Teases Next Movie with Emma Stone Following Poor Things

In a recent interview with Cineuropa, Yorgos Lanthimos confirmed that he’s already finished filming his next project with frequent collaborator Emma Stone, who he began working with in 2018 as The Favourite. The untitled project is captured by cinematographer Robbie Ryan. The project, which he teases, is going to be much simpler and much different from Poor Things because of this particular style.

Following Poor Things, Stone and Lanthimos are reuniting in an upcoming movie, AND, which will star Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons, and Margaret Qualley, and Hong Chau. This project was filmed in New Orleans 2022. Currently both of Lanthimos upcoming movies haven’t been released dates.

When does the release date for Poor Things remain accurate?

The dark comedy’s world premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. Although originally set for a September 8, 2023 release, the film was re-released for three months. Now it is scheduled for release in theaters on December 8.

This film is a huge tale and a stunning evolution of Bella Baxter. A young woman, brought back to life by the highly knowledgeable and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter, reads the synopsis. Bella wants to learn under protection from Baxters. When she’s too tired, Bella returns with Duncan wedderburn, a slick and degradable lawyer, on an adventure across the continent. Bella, free from his times, tries to remain faithful to her wishes to stand for equality and liberation.

Poor Things is directed by Lanthimos, and drawn up from a screenplay written by Tony McNamara, based on Alasdair Grays, the same name a novel that will replace Frankenstein’s story. Two of the players join were Willem Dafoe as Godwin Baxter, Mark Ruffalo as Duncan Wedderburn, Ramy Youssef as Max McCandless, Jerrod Carmichael as Harry Astley, Christopher Abbott as Sir Aubrey de la Pole Blessington, Margaret Qualley as Felicity, and Kathryn Hunter as Swiney.
