Video Game LoFi: Winters Tale is a chilly, chilled-out album

Published on

Videogame LoFi: Winters Tale takes some play-y tunes in winter and gives them an improvised remix.

So for winter, ice turns, so we assume that Curaga will save their lava-level remix album in the summer. Videogame LoFi: Winters Tale features mellowed-out songs such as Donkey Kong and Genshin Impact.

The theme of Sonic 3s Ice Cap Zone Act 1 takes the turn of frenetic snowboarding into something to listen to, to front of the fire and slurping hot chocolate and marshmallows. This song’s original is absent from Sonic Origins’ version of 3, so it’s especially satisfying to see another song.

From behind the heavy blue hedgehogs, this album features tracks from a wealth of titles. All of the songs are considered as winter’s hit. The list of tracks is the following:

  • 88, Save Point: Ice Cave Chung (Davors, Kong).
  • Nokbient: Snowman (from her parents).
  • Fate Lofi: Frappe Snowland feat, Sherbet Land (from Mario Kart 64). Patrick McBride, Tabitha Anderson, etc.
  • Flamesgrace (from Octopath Traveler)
  • Getting a tyre of a volcano has a few kilos.
  • Besso0: Snow Mountain (from Super Mario 64) (Deal of Super Mario 64)
  • Michael Staple Snowy (from UNDERTALE) (* 15.
  • “Dynamic the Hue”, Act I, “The Icecap Zone” (from Sonic the Hedgehog 3).
  • Santa Claus is a great friend of iyap.
  • Save Point: Hook Coast Feat. Patrick McBride, Tabitha Anderson.
  • PushPause: Winter Travel Tale from I AM SETSUNA)
  • Save Point: Snowbaked Tales from Genshin Impact.
  • Illness: Snowbound (from FINAL FANTASY VII)
  • Michael Staple: In Snowbound Land (Duy Kong, country 2): Diddys Kong Quest.
  • Hoshi Diona: The Streets of Whiterun (via the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim)
  • Curaga have put out another video game/loi-like album, including a remix album Secret of Mana. And you can buy a video from this album and even a CD-ROM version.

The digital version of Videogame LoFi: A Winters Tale is available through Bandcamp, and can be found everywhere, either on Amazon or on Spotify. You will need only $15,000, or you will save a CD or cassette paper for the same price (postage excluded). There is also a vinyl version about next year, priced at 28.
